Watch to nurture…….
RANGE: Tiny Yard Concert: Hannah Corneau’s voice is the stuff dreams are made of. She is THE Elphaba of all recent Elphabas who goes around and covers Kacey Musgraves perfectly. I am never not impressed by her tone, range, and ability to move through a song. This tiny yard concert was produced by RANGE, an incredible acapella group in NYC that is composed of working musical theatre actors.
Stop Chasing Purpose and Focus on Wellness by Chloe Hakim-Moore: What even is a purpose? Do we all have one? Why have we been told to find one over and over again? Chloe Hakim-Moore has decided that we are looking for the wrong thing. Purpose is an illusion, instead focus on the day to day. How can you nurture or take care of yourself on a daily basis? How can you sustain a life that makes you feel good and loves you back? This TED talk helps to flip the question of “What should I do?” to “What is good for me?”
Gilbert, Your Elusive Creative Genius: This TED talk is required viewing for me every year. I crave it, need it, yearn for it. I love her playful exploration into the need for artists to create. I love the idea that we are not our work. I love the mythology of the word “genius” and how it stems from demi-gods outside of ourselves. I love how creation interweaves with divinity. Her words are the music my mind longs to hear. This talk will never get old and I will never stop sharing it.
Yebba: Tiny Desk (home) Concert: Big Yebba fan. Really big. Her voice could melt the glaciers in Iceland. She is a modern day siren. This tiny desk concert is all things melodic, hypnotic, and soothing.
West Side Story Trailer Am I actually excited for a musical movie? Why, yes. Yes I really am. Specifically because Rachel Ziegler is going to be a star and her voice will go down in history. This girl can sing. And, it looks good? Just me?

@glowmaven Latham Thomas is a magical goddess sent to this earth from the heavens above. She is a nutritionist and a doula. I met her during my yoga teacher training when she came and spoke to my cohort about nutritional choices; all I could say after this session was “ my god, that woman’s skin GLOWS.” She glows inside and out.; hence her name. Her mission is to serve mothers of color through the birthing process. Her content is not only on birthing, but on wellness and nutritional options.
@sarahjenks Sarah Jenks has been my personal teacher and spiritual mentor for a few years now. She taught me about moon cycles, gathering women, and how to tap into my inner knowing. I was a member of her program, Whole Woman, for the last few years. She recently started exploring motherhood and spiritual marriages in her work, which no longer resonated with me- but might be of interest to you. Also, the moon lodge in her backyard is pretty dope.
@chriscorsini Hyphenated astrologer/ tarot reader/ energy worker who makes his healing and work accessible through the use of sign language and pay-what-you-can pricing. Chris Corsini lives as an expat in Portugal and has numerous workshops on each phase of the moon and changing of the seasons. I eagerly await his tarot spread every month and check out both my sun and rising sign for clarity. Highly recommend his moon workshops when you only have 30 minutes to create a ritual!

BOOK: White Tears, Brown Scars: How White Feminism Betrays Women of Color by Ruby Hamad: Anyone who claims to be an intersectional feminist should read this. It’s not an easy read. I had to continually check myself. But, boy am I grateful that I picked this up. White supremacy is the soup we are swimming in and this scathing cultural critique asks the important questions that we as a society MUST consider if we are to progress.
BOOK: Parachutes by Kelly Yang : I love a banned book. If it’s getting banned somewhere by some parish community in the south, I’m more inclined to read it. This YA book is interesting to me on many levels: it takes place at an American boarding school and discusses those interesting dynamics, while weaving together Asian identity in the US. Trigger Warning: It centers around the assault of a student. This book was compelling and interesting and brought together elements of my own world.
PLAY: Slave Play by Jeremy O’Harris : Hello, provocative theatre. Floored? Stunned? Amazed? A distinctly sweet combination of all of these emotions swept over me while reading. I have yet to see it in person and maybe I will hold off as I am uncertain that I can handle the magnitude of it all. This play explores racial and power dynamics in a way that the stage has never seen before.
BOOK: Spiral Dance by Starhawk - The history of witches, old religious practices, and the reign of patriarchy. Quintessential reading for anyone looking to start their own spiritual practice with roots. I consider this a foundational text for my own spiritual work.
ARTICLE: Teaching Should be Political by Clint Smith. The title reflects my sentiments exactly.
ARTICLE: The Myth of Conservative Feminism by Jessica Valenti- An oldie, but a goodie. Jessica Valenti is unrelenting and exactly what we need more of as the patriarchy begins to crumble. I could read her words all day and still find nuance in them.

Moonbeaming Podcast; Money Magic I had to listen twice. Sarah Faith Gottessdeiner is an incredible witch and spiritual leader who is grounded in the reality of living in a world that devalues magic. This podcast, and her writing in general, has helped me to reframe my relationship to money. Capitalism and consumerism are inescapable, so the question remains: how do we as thoughtful, compassionate humans live our lives to the fullest without getting sucked into new age narcissism and the death cult of overworking? She discusses money spells, the energy of money, and the need to take actionable steps to live a life that we love and are supported by. I like her because she moved beyond the typical ‘law of attraction’ aka privilege in disguise conversation had by so many wellness influencers.
NYT 1619 Podcast Spearheaded by Nikole Hannah-Jones, this podcast is based on the premise that no area of the nation went untouched by slavery after 1619 when 20 enslaved Africans were brought over to the US. The span of history that this podcast covers is extensive; however, it primarily focuses on how our economy was built on slavery, what a ‘true democracy’ looks like, and how Black culture has shaped American culture.
Oprah Supersoul Sunday: Michael Pollan on Conscious Eating: “ When we eat, we are taking nature into our bodies.” Michael Pollan’s simple yet revolutionary approach to eating has always felt like the closest thing to right. Food is a complicated subject for me and I usually have a difficult time when people discuss ways of eating for health. I did not feel anger or annoyance as I usually would, when he spoke to Oprah and found myself both encouraged and inspired by him.
