Watch to nurture…….

  • Inside The Mind of A Cat This documentary really made me wish I wasn’t allergic to cats. Everything from cat and human history, Indonesian street cats, and viral cat videos is addressed. Both entertaining and informative, this is worth the hour of your time.

  • A League of Their Own ( The Series) A fantastic queer retelling of the beloved movie in episodic form. The characters are easy to love and the story becomes both nail-biting and endearing. I never knew what was going to happen to Max! I love the glimpse into queer history that we don’t typically see on screen.

  • Sheng Wang: Sweet and Juicy : I’m very into a stinging one-liner and this special is filled to the brim with them. Sheng’s commentary on everything from Costco to race in America had me howling on a leisurely Saturday morning.

  • Everything Happens for a Reason- and others lies I've Loved by Kate Bowler I was first introduced to Kate Bowler through Glennon’s podcast; I would say she is a modern-day mystic academic trying to make meaning out of the meaningless. Her personal brush with death has shaped her outlook on life and I appreciate how transparent and real she is. Spirituality dusted with truth is her brand.

Read to root…….

  • Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus (TW: SA) Elizabeth Zott is one of the most interesting fictional characters I have come across in some time; shrewd, brilliant, forthright, and ambitious. This novel dives into the notion of equity and importance in a man’s world during the less than equitable 1960s. While some moments felt more trite than tender, this is a great beach read. I did have to skip over a chapter that dealt with assault but was able to continue reading shortly after.

  • The Future of Work is No Work by Nicole Froio A poignant investigation into “ The Great Resignation” and the pandemic’s impact on work and working conditions in the USA. The question that this article poses is, “ But what if society was not organized around wage labor, but something else? And what would that something else be?”

  • My Ambition is To Be Free And Awesome by Mona Eltahawy Eltahawy explores the concept that ambition is the radical reaction to the overbearing hands of patriarchy. Her insistence that gendered freedom does not come through replication, but through inventing something new is an idea that I deeply align with. I do not want the same rights as a man to repeat the current shape of power exploitation: I want the same rights to shift the system and think beyond what currently exists.

  • Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy (TW: SA) This book. WOW. I couldn’t put it down. It is riveting. On one level you have a deeply moving portrait of an eclectic character with a complex past, on another, you are exposed to fascinating information about wolf populations and how they impact environmental efforts. It’s science and fiction and romance and adventure and power dynamics all wrapped up into one book. The cast of characters is easy to imagine and hear with their thick Scottish accents and dimly light cabins. I found myself contemplative about the theme of what is wild throughout the text and propelled to explore my own wildness after completing the story.

  • Supermoon playlist I can’t take any credit for this playlist. It’s been a go-to on my daily walks- the right mix of pop, folk, and witchy badass tunes to help me get that coveted step count.

  • Insight timer- Alexandra Roxo Embody your feminine fire practice I did a transformational retreat back in August with Alexandra where she introduced me to feminine embodiment work. This practice allowed me to feel how disconnected I was from my body and to experience and RELEASE some of the stagnant energy I was holding on to at the physical level. This is an introduction to that practice that I hope you find useful.

  • Cosmic Rx Radio with Maddie Miller This is a weekly astrology podcast that I listen to in order to get the lay of the land for the upcoming week. Miller’s voice and idioms almost feel cartoonish, however, her knowledge of the astrological terrain is spot-on.

  • I am Loving Awareness A collaboration between Ram Dass and East Forrest. Great for meditation/ contemplation/ intuitive movement. It’s a solid ten minutes, so perfect to add to a morning or evening routine.
